Leonard & Sons Virtual Chimney Assessment
In an effort to deliver the highest level of service to our customers and keep everyone safe, we are offering virtual assessments. This is a program where we can use images that you upload of your fireplace and chimney system to provide a report of the work that needs to be done with no pre-inspection appointment necessary!
In order to do this, we need to be sure that the images you provide contain the necessary information. We will need a minimum of five photos from you to assess your chimney system, but the more photos you provide, the better of an assessment you will receive. Please view the images and read the tips below regarding specific images and angles that we need to provide you with the best assessment possible.
Please include at least 1 photo of each of the following shots:
Chimney
Photo(s) of the exterior of the chimney from the ground to the top from afar.
Inside of Firebox
Photo(s) of a close view of the firebox.
Close Up Of The Top Of The Chimney
Photo(s) taken from ground level and zoomed in to view the top of your chimney.
Up The Flue
Photo(s) taken from the inside of the firebox, looking up the flue.
Full Fireplace
Photo(s) of the fireplace or appliance from afar, showing the whole appliance.
Other Problematic Areas (Optional)
Any other problematic masonry areas that are not listed already. Such as shoulders/slope stones on the chimney, general tuckpointing, etc.
For some assessments, we will take a look at your water heater, furnace, and the connector pipes if they vent through your chimney. If these appliances vent through your chimney, please include them below.

Virtual Chimney Assessment
** This proposal is for an initial assessment only. No inspection was completed nor implied as to the fire worthiness or safety of the chimney. It is our recommendation the chimney be swept and scanned to see the current condition of flue tile and flue tile joints prior to the use of the fireplace.
**Please note that the accuracy of the assessment depends on the quality of the images provided. We reserve the right to adjust the assessment if we arrive at an onsite inspection and discover the problem is different than what was originally seen in the images.
